Ingredients
-1 half head of Cabbage, sliced into thin strips-500g minced beef-1 Onion, sliced or chopped finely-1 large carrot grated-1 cup of white long grain rice-Salt to taste-4 tbsps Curry powder, or enough to suit your tastes (it shouldn't be over-powering)-Chicken stock, enough to cover the above almost completely (allow for the fact the cabbage will soften up)
Directions
Put all the ingredients except the Curry into a large pot and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce to a simmer and put the lid on.
Do stir every 5-10 mins so it doesn't burn to the bottom, and skim any fats from the beef off the top and discard.
When the cabbage has wilted completely and the rice broken down and thickened the stew/soup stir in the Curry powder.

Serve with crusty bread rolls.
Serves up to 8 people, often with some to spare.
This dish is fantastic reheated next day on toast.
