Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour, 3 cupSalt, .5 tsp Baking Soda, .75 tsp Ginger, ground, 1 tbsp Cinnamon, ground, .5 tbsp Cloves, ground, .5 tsp Nutmeg, ground, .5 tsp Butter, salted, .5 cup Granulated Sugar, .5 cup Egg, fresh, 1 large beatenMolasses, .66 cup
Directions
Combine flour, salt, soda, and spices in a mixing bowl.
In another bowl cream butter and sugar. Add molasses (when measuring molasses always spray your cups with nonstick spray so you don't spend eternity cleaning them!) and the beaten egg. When well mixed add to dry ingredients. Form into two balls. Cover with plastic wrap or put in a baggie and chill at least two hours. I normally just make up a batch after dinner for the next day.

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350

Working with one half at a time, roll out on a well floured surface to no more than a quarter inch thick. If you want crisper cookies you will want them to be no more than 1/8th of an inch. Place on parchment paper (wax will work in a pinch) about an inch apart.

Bake 8-10 minutes. Makes about 45 cookies. My cookie cutter kids measure about three and a half inches tall by 2 at the arms.
