Obama's Chili

Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped1 green pepper, chopped3 garlic cloves, chopped1 tablespoon olive oil1 lb ground turkey or beef1/4 teaspoon ground cumin1/4 teaspoon ground oregano1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric1/4 teaspoon ground basil1 tablespoon chili powder3 tablespoons red wine vinegartomato, several depending on size, chopped1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans
Directions
Saute onions, green pepper and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add ground meat and brown. Combine spices together into a mixture, then add to pot. Add red wine vinegar. Add tomatoes and let simmer, until tomatoes cook down. Add kidney beans and cook for a few more minutes.

    I love this chili. Sometimes I add some ketchup with the tomatoes. I like a little extra vinegar too. But taste first-its pretty perfect as is. One final tip: do your prep first. The timing of this recipe is such that you will want to have everything chopped and ready to go. - 4/27/10
