Baked Cinnamon Apples

4 baking apples1/2 cup brown sugar, packed4 teaspoons margarine1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1. Remove core from apples and place upright in baking dish, placing two tablespoons brown sugar, 1-teaspoon margarine and 1/8-teaspoon cinnamon in the center of each apple. Pour water into baking dish to 1/4 inch depth.
2. Bake at 375° F for 30-40 minutes, or until tender.
Makes 4 (1 apple) servings.

Here is a more simple version of the baked apple. Core apple place brown sugar & cinnamon in core. Notice that I omitted the butter. put in microwave safe dish, cover with paper towel or glass lid. Microwave to desired consistency. I like mine slightly crisp so it takes about 1.5 minutes. - 5/31/09

I use a brown sugar substitute and it tastes great (and if pressed for time, you can chop the apples, mix with the cinnamon, margarin, and sugar or sugar substitute and throw it in the microwave for a couple minutes til tender - great topping for diet friendly ice cream or by itself) - 11/27/07
