Mo's Chicken and Rice Casserole

2 (10.75 oz) cans cream of chicken soup2 2/3 cups water1 stalk broccoli, chopped3 carrots, sliced4 cloves garlic, minced1 tsp basil1/2 tsp turmeric1/4 tsp pepper4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in halves (8 pieces)1 cup shredded aged cheddar cheese
1. Stir soup, water, rice, broccoli, carrots, garlic, basil, turmeric, and pepper in a 13"x9" baking dish.
2. Lay chicken breasts on top and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
3. Cover and bake for an hour.
4. Remove cover and test for doneness. Sprinkle cheese on top and let rest for 5 minutes. Makes 8 servings.
