Ground Beef "Shire" Chili

1.5 pounds ground beef1/2 large onion, chopped1/2 cup green pepper, chopped1 large celery rib, chopped1 can (16 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained16 oz tomato juice1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomato1 can (10.5 oz) condensed beef broth1 cup water (or amount for desired consitency)2 Tbsp chili powder1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce1/2 Tbsp dried basil1 tsp ground cumin1 tsp garlic powder1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp pepper
Chop all vegetable ingredients. Add vegetables and ground beef to a large pot. Brown beef over medium heat until no longer pink and vegetables are tender.
Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, uncover, and cook 30 minutes or until chili is desired thickness. Makes 8 servings.
