Caramel Apple Bread Pudding

8 oz day-old french bread6 oz 2% milk1 egg4 packets splenda 2 small granny smith apples1/4 c dark brown sugar1/8 c butter1/4 t cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
1. Combine milk, egg and splenda in a large bowl.
2. Add bread cubes and mix thoroughly, soaking bread with the liquid.
3. Melt butter with brown sugar and cinnamon in a large saute pan. Add peeled, sliced apples and cook about 5 minutes, until tender.
4. Place cooked apples in the bottom of a buttered loaf pan. Add the soaked bread on top and bake for 20 - 25 minutes at 375 degrees until golden brown. Serve when cooled with your favorite whipped topping or ice cream.
