Basic Homemade Mashed Potato

Ingredients
5lb bag of potato, raw, (approx. 8 large, 3" to 4-1/4" dia.) Milk, nonfat, 1 cup (warm or room temperature)Butter, unsalted, 4 tbsp salt and pepper to taste (about tsp of each)
Directions
Peel and cut potatoes place in large pot of water

Bring potatoes and water to a boil and then time about 20 mins. or until potatoes are soft

Drain water then mash potatoes in pot with hand masher or mixer adding butter, skim milk, and salt & pepper
to taste.

    While these mashed potatoes are delicious, the butter adds extra fat and calories that are not needed. Try switching the butter to something like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. - 10/13/10
