1/2 lb (2 sticks/16 Tbls) butter or margarine1 cup, packed brown sugar2 large eggs3 Tbls milk or water1 tsp vanilla extract2.5 cups all-purpose flour3/4 tsp baking soda3/4 tsp salt5.5 oz (1/2 package) Safeway Butterscotch Chips1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
makes 60 cookies
preheat oven to 375F. mix butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. mix in eggs, milk or water, and vanilla. mix in flour, soda, and salt until incorporated. mix in butterscotch chips and nuts. drop by rounded teaspoons 1.5 inches apart on greased baking sheets. bake for 11 to 12 minutes. cool 2 minutes and remove to racks.
