Cheezy Refried Beans

1 can - Pinto Beans: Private Selection Organic4T - Nutritional Yeast: Large Flake1/2t - Chili powder1/4t - Cumin (ground)1/8t - Cayenne Pepper (Ground)1/4t - Kosher Salt1/4t - Dried Chili Flakes 1/4t - Dried Oregano1/2T - Dried Onion Flakes1/4c - Water1/2T - Lime Juice
Makes 16 1 Tablespoon Servings
-This is pretty low calorie for beans so feel free to use as much as your caloric intake allows...
Combine all the in ingredients in a sauce pan on low to medium heat. Mix well and then once the beans are warm mash them up. I use a potato masher but rock out. I pretty much just cook it until the Onion flakes have re-hydrated.

Didn't see onion flakes listed. I love spicy foods so this will satisfy my cravings for hot foods. You might also try putting in 1/2 can of rotel tomatoes. - 11/21/09

Mary, the nutritional yeast makes them cheezy. I like all of the ingredients listed and followed the recipe exactly and did not care for this at all. Something about the flavor combo tasted sour and off. I will try some other combos since I love beans and I love spicy food. Thanks. - 11/8/10
