Linda's Pork Chop Crock Pot Casserole

Spray Oil [Pam]*Canola Oil, 1 tbsp Onions, raw, 1 large - sliced, saute'Potato, raw, 2 large (3" to 4-1/4" dia.) Pork Chops (pork loin), roasted, 10 oz Pepper, black, 1 tsp White Wine, 2 fl oz Sage, 1 serving Mushrooms, canned, .5 cup 6.Vegetable Broth, 1 cup [home made broth of choice]Frozen: Green Beans (snap), 2 cup
Preheat non stick skillet on medium low. Spray the pan and t he 5 qt crockpot with Spray Canola. I found I needed a tablespoon of canola added to the pan when i browned the pork loin chops.
1. Slice the onion and saute' on medium low to soften and slightly caramelize. Remove to a plate or bowl.
2. While cooking the onion, slice the potatoes [don't need to peel away the vitamins, and place in an even layer in the bottom of the crock pot.
3. Trim the pork loin of excess fat. Turn the skillet up to medium high. Set the timer for two minutes and add the loin to the pan. Pepper the side that is up. At 2 minutes turn the pork, and pepper the side that is up. Set time for last 2 minutes.
4. Remove the pork loin chops & place on top of the potatoes. "Deglaze" the pan with a little wine if you have it. Can substitute water or broth. Pour over the pork chops.
5. Place fresh sage leaves over the pork chops [if available].
6. Spread the sauteed onions over the chops.
7. Sprinkle the canned mushrooms over this.
8.Add the broth.
9. Place the frozen green beans in the refrigerator to at least partially thaw.
Know your crock pot. You may need more liquid.
Turn on the crock pot: High for 4 hours. Low for 8 hours
One hour before serving, add the green beans over the top. Can use tongs to mix a little with the onion & the mushrooms with the beans.
