Cabbage Soup

Ingredients
2 T butter3 c cabbage, finely cut1/2 c onion, finely chopped1/2 c celery, finely chopped4 c chicken broth1/2 lb Eckrich smoked sausage (skinless), chopped2 small apples, peeled & cubed1/4 t. pepper1/4 t. carroway seeds, optional
Directions
Melt butter in stock pot; add cabbage, onion, and celery. Cook 5 - 8 minutes on medium low heat. Add chicken broth, sausage, apples, and pepper. Cook until apples are tender, 15 - 20 minutes.
