L.R. pizza casserole

Ingredients
2 lbs. venison sausage207g (1-1/2cup) chopped onion1/2 tsp. oil1 tsp. sugarsprinkle of salt1 box barilla plus penne (14.5 oz.)6 cups L.R. pizza or spaghetti sauce1 small can mushrooms1/2 cup olives, chopped8 oz. mozzarella, shredded1 can 98% fat free cream of chicken soupabout 30 slices pepperoni
Directions
In a large skillet, brown the sausage. In a small skillet carmelize the onion in the oil over high heat. Sprinkle with sugar and sprinkle with salt. Stir constantly until transparent and lightly browned. In a large kettle, cook the pasta until very tender; drain. In a large bowl, combine the sausage mixture, spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, olives, onions, soup and pasta. In a 9"x13" pan, place half of the pasta mixture. Sprinkle with half the mozzarella. Place half the pepperoni slices on top. Repeat layers. Cover and bake at 350 until heated through, about 45 minutes. Makes 12 servings.

    I didn't measure this one by the cupful. I just mark it into 12 pieces. It's probably close to a cupful, but I don't know.
