Ingredients
Directions
Apples, a tiny bit of lime juice, 2% white cheddar cheese, part-skim mozzarella cheese & craisins-- oh and toothpicks!
Peel the skins off the apples in thin winding strips, since you'll need some of those to make the scarves.
Using the larger side of your melon-baller, make balls from each of the apples. Put them in a bowl with the lime juice, which will keep them from turning brown & also add a nice little zing.
Using the larger side of your melon baller again, make balls out of the white cheddar cheese, then use the smaller side to make balls out of the mozzarella cheese.
Construct your snowmen, using the toothpicks: apples on the bottom, then white cheddar, then make a scarf by criss-crossing two pieces of apple peel, then a mozzarella ball, topped off with a jaunty craisin hat.
Once all your snowmen have been assembled, grate the cheese left from all the holes, crumble what you can't grate, and use this to serve as the snow on the plate the snowmen will be served on.
Adorable and appealing even to those who shun healthy food! Also fun to assemble with your kids!
