Ingredients
1 cup agave nectar (or honey, or maple syrup)2/3 cup almond butter2 2/3 cups rolled oats1 cup whole wheat flour1 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 teaspoon nutmeg2 cups mix-ins (i used about 1 cup raisins and another cup slivered almonds and peanuts, but things like coconut, chocolate chips, other nuts or dried fruit would be great)if it is too dry, like mine was at first, you can throw in some water. i happened to have just made coffee so i put about 1/4 cup coffee in instead - smelled delicious and added to the nutty flavor.
Directions
makes about 20-24 bars depending on size.

preheat to 350. grease a 9x13 pan. it can be shallow as the dough does not rise or change shape during baking. put the wet ingredients in a large bowl, slowly adding all the other ingredients. it might take a little elbow grease to mix because the almond butter, oats and flour are pretty dense. once thoroughly mixed, press into prepared pan. bake until the edges are slightly browned, about 20 minutes. do not overbake. let cool COMPLETELY before slicing - trust me!
these can be stored in airtight containers, bags, or individual wrappers if you have the patience. they also freeze well and would be great broken up over some soy vanilla ice cream!
