Ingredients
1 tablespoon cinnamon bark 1 tablespoon cardamom pod (ground is ok)1 tablespoon dried orange peel1/2 tablespoon fresh ginger (a little less for ground)1/2 tablespoon coriander seeds1/3 teaspoon black peppercorns5 whole cloves2 whole star anise1/2 teaspoon black tea leaves (optional)1 1/2 pints water (5 cups)
Directions
Simmer all ingredients together in a pot for 15 minutes with the lid off so that the liquid reduces slightly. Serve sweetened with honey. A little warmed milk can be added when serving, if desired.
