Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef6 cloves garlic minced1 large onion chopped4 stalks celery chopped1 large green bell pepper2 cups canned lentils2 cups chopped mushrooms2 cups uncooked whole wheat macaroni
Directions
Brown together lean ground beef, onions and celery. Season with salt, pepper, basil, parsley and oregeno. Add green pepper and garlic once the beef is about half cooked. Finish cooking ground beef mixture. Add 6 cups diced tomatoes (canned or fresh) and 2 cups well drained and rinsed canned lentils. Cook on medium heat. While the meat mixture is cooking cook 2 cups uncooked whole wheat pasta for approx. 6 minutes. Add to meat mixture. Let simmer 10 minutes. Makes 8 2 cup servings.
