CrockPot Beef Stew w/Brown Rice-Ginger

1 Package Beef Stew Seasoning Mix4 Cups water3/4 Package baby carrots2 large yellow onions4 celery stalks1 cup frozen lima beans (optional) 1 cup red wine1.25 cups brown rice2 bay leaves2 tsp. canola oil (for browning beef before putting in crockpot)
Brown beef in a skillet w/salt and pepper in 2 tsp of canola oil (do not crowd the pan or it will never brown).
Put in crockpot
Chop onions and celery and quickly saute in pan that you browned the beef in then put in crockpot.
Add 3 cups water and seasoning packet.
After 4 hours put in brown rice, red wine, limas, and 1 more cup of water along with bay leaves.
cook for 2 more hours.
makes 10 1 cup servings
