Gilly's Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

1 1/2 lbs of lean or extra lean ground beef, drained2 large tins of chopped tomato2 large cooking onions, chopped1 large green pepper1 zucchiniabout 15 button mushrooms, choppedItalian seasonings OreganoDried Italian chili peppers (optional)
Brown ground beef and drain. Add to the slow cooker. Chop all vegetables except the mushrooms. Add tinned tomatoes and chopped vegetables and stir to combine. Add Italian seasoning and oregano to taste. After about 5 hours cooking time, I add the mushrooms and the tomato paste (and red pepper flakes, if you're using them) and adjust seasoning to your liking . Then let simmer for a few more hours. Makes at least 12 one cup servings. Serve over whole wheat pasta. Enjoy!
