1cup White Rice, long grain1 Tbsp Butter, unsalted1 can Swanson Chicken Broth 99% Fat Free, 1/2 cup Vermicelli Pasta
Melt butter in a 2 quart pan, brown vermicelli, add rice, coat with butter mixture. Add broth, bring to boil, turn to simmer, and cook 25 minutes. Stir and serve.
Beef or vegetable broth can be used as well.

I'm trying to cut fat, so I only used a tablespoon of butter to brown the vermicelli. I think you can just experiment with cutting the amount of butter to see how low you can go before it doesn't taste right to you...The butter adds flavor, so I wouldn't eliminate it completely. - 8/15/09
