Sweet Potato Mash

Ingredients
1 butternut squash, about 2 1/2 pounds4 sweet potatoes, about 8 oz each, peeled, cut in chunks1/4 c maple syrup (or 1/2 maple syrup; 1/2 agave)2 T unsalted butter1/2 t. ground nutmegSalt/pepper to taste(optional) I also add several shakes of cinnamon
Directions
Peel/seed squash; cut into large chunks. Place squash & sweets in large pot, cover w/salted water. Bring boil, reduce heat & simmer uncovered til tender, 15-20 min. Drain well, place in bowl (or return to pan). While hot, mash in remaining ingreds. with fork or potato masher. To reheat, place in oven-to-table dish covered in 350 degree oven, heat through 15 min. Makes 8 servings, 1/2 c + 3T each.
