Cabbage Rice Soup

Ingredients
1 medium head of cabbage1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced1 cup raw carrots, sliced1 cup raw celery, diced1 cup raw onion, chopped1/2 cup long grain brown rice, uncooked8 cups vegetable broth1 TBSP basil
Directions
Bring vegetable broth to a boil and add onions. Let simmer for a few minutes and then add uncooked rice and all other ingredients. Simmer covered until rice is cooked and cabbage is tender, about 2 hours.
