I make my own almond milk also. It is yummy. I just wanted to point out that the nutritional info is probably not accurate. The recipe calculator does not take into account that you are removing most of the nut meat in the cheese cloth. The calories are actually much lower. I would guess 40-60. - 5/11/10

That is good to know. I tried to find more info on this, and it was hard to find accurate information. Thanks!!!

I also make almond milk, and wanted to mention that I have found that a nylon (hose) makes an excellent substitute for a nut-milk bag!
Also, I agree with other statements regarding the calorie count in the nutritional values. This milk made with 5 cups of water is probably closer to 40 calories : - 3/11/13

I just discovered this too and went to post it. Just a helpful hint: you can subtract the calories found in the almond meal left over that you've strained out. You can enter a negative number in as how much meal you got out of it. (i.e. if you got 1/4 cup, enter -0.25 cups of meal to recipe calc.) - 7/22/17

Since almonds are "pasteurized" to deactivate compounds that develop if they are crossed with plum or peach pollen, they already are cooked,. So, I heated my milk and, once hot, added some maple flavoring, cooled it a bit and added a tablespoon of honey. I have to heat flavorings, for my health. - 1/17/11
