Pinto Beans

Ingredients
1/2 pound dry pinto beans (a little more than one cup)4 cups water1 tablespoon bacon grease (or butter)1/2 teaspoon EACH, salt, garlic powder and onion powder1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Soak the beans in water overnight, or do a quick soak. After soaking, bring the beans to a boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer for about a half an hour. Add bacon grease and spices, cover again and simmer about 45 minutes to an hour, or until as tender as you prefer.
