Ingredients
1 Cup Sugar1 Cup Milk4 tsp Baking Powder2 Eggs, beaten1 tsp salt2 cups + 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted2 tbs butter, melted1 16-oz jar Maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
Directions
In a mixing bowl: Add the sugar to the eggs and beat well. Alternating, mix in the 2 cups of sifted flour and milk.

In small bowl: Combine the 1 cup sifted flour, baking powder, and salt; Stir into batter.

Add cherries and melted butter. Mix well. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake in a 350 oven for approx. 1 hour or when tops are golden and firm.

The original recipe used one loaf pan but the bread "overflows" pan while baking. Recipe was calculated for 24 servings (12 servings per loaf).

    These are delicious. I also found they were fully cooked after 40 minutes. I am definitely going to make them again. - 12/13/10

    Yummy! The only problem is that she has you make two loaves, but doesn't say what size. I did two regular size and I luckily only baked them for 40 minutes because they were too dry. I think she means the smaller loaves. Still YUM! - 9/5/10
