north Carolina Slaw

Ingredients
cabbage green & red 1 med head each-shredded1/2 c each green & red peppers strips or choppedonion- 1 small chopped or sliceddressing:cider vinegar 3'4 cbrown sugar 1/2- 1/3 cblack pepper 1 tspred pepper flakes to tasteremainder salt
Directions
shred cabbage
slice or cop peppers & onions
place in bowl & sprinkle 1/2 tsp salt on mixture- toss & let sit
prepare dressing:
whisk vinegar & brown sugar (start with less brown sugar & add to your taste)
add salt, & peppers (the heat grows as the slaw sits-so add red pepper to your taste)
toss to coat
I like to let it sit a couple of hours or even over night for the flavors to fully develop
