When I made this the first time it was very BLAND! The second time I substituted Rotelle for half of the tomatoes and added bell pepper, garlic and twice the amount of onion called for, also used some kosher salt and some pepper. Great base of a recipe for one to make it to their own liking, I did! - 6/10/09

I don't care what name you call it - it is a great recipe. It is healthy, and very versatile - you can add whatever spice you like to suit your tastes - to me, that is a definition of a great recipe. Thanks for sharing! - 6/10/09

All goulash is not the same. My Mom use to make a goulash with ground beef, tomatoes and juice, salt and pepper and elbow macaroni. I make it with ground turkey.
Here is the def. of Goulash. Also called Hungarian goulash. a stew of beef or veal and vegetables, with paprika and other seasoning. - 2/16/08

Great recipe. I used ground turkey, paprika, garlic, onions, a bag of mixed veggies, and all of the above recipe items, extra spices. I added the noodles in uncooked and they absorbed the extra liquid. Then I reread the recipe, should have add the pasta cooked! But it turned out just fine. - 8/20/08

A little bland and watery (you could try leaving out a cup or so of water)... I added lots of fresh ground black pepper and some garlic powder and a little bit of seasalt. It was better the next day when we had the leftovers for lunch! - 3/12/08

It needs seasoning badly. Added lots of paprika, some pepper and salt and a bit of garlic powder and basil. - 2/19/08

GOULASH IS defined as a stew of beef or veal and vegetables, with paprika and other seasoning. SO THIS RECIPE CAN BE CALLED GOULASH AS WELL AS YOURS, IT IS ALL IN WHAT YOU MAKE IT. Great recipe, Cathy! - 2/16/08

Great idea Cathy! Unfortunately people are concentrating on the NAME and not the finished product. I dont care what it's called. Goulash or not, IT WAS DELICIOUS! :) - 2/16/08

I made this exactly as the receipe states. It was a very hearty meal. Next time I would add some Italian seasoning, it was a little bland. - 1/5/09

I make this a lot, just never knew it had a name. I also add the noodles uncooked and let them simmer for about 15 minutes. - 11/20/08

I subsituted the beef with ground turkey, used tomato sauce instead of water and added bell peppers and some garlic. My husband and I enjoyed it this way (and he hates carrots ... lol). - 8/20/09

Wonderful recipe, I have been making it for years. You can put squash, corn, green beans, anything fresh from the garden is wonderful in it. - 6/10/09

This was a good meal for me but my kids complained it was a bit bland though. - 8/20/08

Pretty good. I think the directions needed to be a bit clearer. Also, I added some tomato sauce, to give it better flavoring and more color. Otherwise, good recipe and will try again. - 6/12/09

This was ok and would benefit from tons of spices. If I make it again I will have to make several alterations to the recipe. - 2/26/08
