8 oz cherry or sugar plum tomatoes3 tbsp olive oilve oil1/2 cup chopped basil2 garlic cloves finely chopped1/2 lb pasta1/2 cup shredded mozarellla cheese
Cut tomatoes in half and place in a bowl with olive oil, basil, and garlic. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper on top and mix everything up so olive oil and garlic are mixed in with the tomatoes. Cover the bowl with suran wrap and leave on the counter for 10-12 hours.
Cook pasta according to the directions. Once cooked drain the pasta and place it back in the pot. Add the tomatoes mixture and mozarella cheese to the pasta and mix. Cover the pot for about 5 minutes until the cheese has melted.

You don't really mean 1/2 cup of basil, do you??? And, what would happen if I refrigerated the tomato mixture while it marinates? - 8/21/10

Don't pack the basil down. It's really not that much. I dont know what would happen if you refigerate the tomatoes but it would be a cold mixture added to a hot pasta and the cheese would take longer to melt.
