Enhanced Pasta Sauce

1 lb gr beef1 large can or jar of pasta sauce (approx 700 ml)1 cup chopped onion 1 cup chopped red or green onion1 can mushrooms, drained2 cups canned tomatoes, with liquid1 tbsp garlic powder
Brown ground beef in large skillet or pot.
Drain and add onion, peppers and garlic powder. Once tender, add mushrooms, tomatoes and sauce. Let simmer for minimum fifteen minutes. I find it best to let it simmer for about a half and hour.
Makes approx 16 1-cup servings.
