Ingredients

    1 (12 oz.) box ziti pasta
    1 lb. extra lean ground beef
    4 cups spaghetti sauce
    1 (15 oz.) container fat-free ricotta cheese
    1/4 cup egg substitute
    1 cup part-skim mozzarella, shredded
    1/2 cup reduced-fat parmesan cheese, grated
    1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp ground black pepper



Tips

To lighten up this recipe even further, try substituting ground turkey or chicken!


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook pasta according to box directions; drain. In a large pan, cook ground beef until no pink remains; drain any liquid and set aside. In a large bowl, mix together ricotta cheese and egg; stir in cheeses, seasonings, beef and pasta until well combined. Pour in sauce and stir until completely incorporated. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish (2 quart size or larger) and cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for 35 minutes or until hot and bubbling. Serve warm.
