Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
Pastry:2 C flour1 1/2 sticks margarine6 Tbs ice waterSyrup:1 C sugar2 C water4 Tbs[ (1/2 stick) margarine1/4 tsp cinnamon6 Granny Smith (or other tart) apples
Directions
Combine pastry ingredients. Roll out and cut into 6 inch squares.

Syrup: Boil for 3 minutes 1 C sugar, 2 C water, 4 Tbs margarine, 1/4 tsp cinnamon.

Pare and core apples. Place an apple on each square. Fill apples with sugar and cinnamon. Fold edges of square to cover apples. Place in 9 x 13 pan. Pour syrup around.

Bake at 425 degrees for 40 - 50 minutes.
