Sautee onions in non-stick pan with 1 tbsp canola oil over medium heat. When onions are slightly browned, begin adding sugar to desired carmelization. Remove onions to another plate to keep warm; set aside. Grill or sautee steak in same pan as onions with 1 tbsp canola oil. Split and toast rolls. When steak is desired doneness, add a small amount of water to pan to create a sauce. Reduce to desired thickness. Put slices of beef on toasted rolls, then top with sauteed onions. Pour half of sauce in pan on each sandwich. Makes 2 servings. Best eaten with knife and fork.
