Bran Muffins

Ingredients
2c. boiling water5 tsp. baking soda1c. shortening2c. sugar4 eggs5c. wheat flour (or white)1 tbs. salt4c. bran buds2c. bran flakes1 qt. buttermilk
Directions
Boil water and add baking soda, let cool. Cream shortening & sugar. Add eggs, then flour, salt, bran buds, flakes, and buttermilk. Bake in muffin tins at 375 degrees for 20 min. The batter can be stored in the fridge for up to 6 weeks. I can't tell you how many servings it makes exactly, but it's A LOT. They are really good too!
