Traditional Kasha
- Minutes to Cook:
- Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
Directions
1/2 cup roasted buckwheat groats (kasha)2 1/2 cups water1 1/2 cups milk (almond milk)1 tbsp honey (raw organic)1 tsp cinnamon
Combine all ingredients except honey in a saucepan and place stovetop heat on high. Bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower temp to simmer.
Allow to cook for 20 minutes, stirring regularly to avoid burning or clumping. Stir in honey and allow to cook for a couple more minutes. You may want to add butter, but I prefer to add this directly to the serving, if at all.
Top with raisins, cranberries (cranberry sauce is perfect for this), or fruit preserves.
