Ingredients
Walnuts 2 cupsSugar 0.5 cupsChicken 1 lbscanola oil 1 tbspPomegranate Paste 3 tbspWater 4 cupsSalt 0.5 tsppepper 0.5 tsp
Directions
saute finely chopped onin with canola oil until they are lightly brown. add chicken and 4 cups of water and let it come to boil. Grind walnuts in food processor and ad to the chicken. Add pomegranate paste and resuce the temperature to medium-low. let it cook for 2-3 hours. The stew should be slightly thick and the color should be brown. add sugar to taste and let it cook for another 20 minutes. Serve over basmati rice.

    This was very good! I used much less sugar than called for, but used pomegranate molasses instead of pomegranate paste-- not sure if that makes a difference. Tastes like Mom used to make it! Thanks for sharing. - 2/27/11

    You are welcome. I'm glad you liked it. I think you can modify evey dish to your taste and based on the available ingredient and sometimes the result is even better than the original one.
