Zuppa Toscana Soup

1 lb. spicy Italian sausage – crumbled1 package Oscar Mary Real Bacon Recipe Pieces1 qt. water2 14.5 oz. cans (about 3 2/3 cups) chicken broth5-6 lg. russet potatoes – scrubbed clean, cubed2 garlic cloves – peeled, crushed1 med. onion – peeled, chopped2 cups chopped kale OR Swiss chard1 cup heavy whipping creamsalt and pepper – to taste
1. Brown sausage in a pan over medium to medium-high heat, breaking up into small pieces as it cooks.
2. Drain sausage and set to the side.
3. Place broth, water, garlic, potatoes, bacon, sausage and onion in a crock pot.
4. Cook on high for 5-6 hours until potatoes are soft.
5. Add kale and cream to pot.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Cook on high for an additional half hour.
