vegetarian split pea soup

Ingredients
split peas ,onion carrot ,celery, seasoning
Directions
makes 4 -2 cup servings

bring 2 quarts
Add 2 cups of dry split peas
chopped celery
chopped carrots
chopped onions
1bay leave
1/4 tsp thyme
pinch of cayene pepper
salt and pepper to taste

Bring 2 quarts of water boil
add peas, carrots , onion, celery and seasoning
boil for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. After 20 minutes turn heat down to a simmer, stirring occasionally . When peas are tender carefully transfer to a blender(mixture wil be hot) . Puree mixture till its the texture you like. serve hot or cold.
