Ingredients
1 Egg1 Slice Bread (calculations here use white bread)1 Pat Butter Salt
Directions
Take your slice of bread and cut out a square or circle, making sure to leave at least a half inch on all four sides.

In a frying pan melt your butter and place the bread in the pan.

Crack your egg into a cup or dis and without breaking the yolk pour inside the hole previously made in your bread.

Cook on med/high heat until your egg is around 3/4 cooked, checking as to not burn your bread.

Flip with a spatula and cook the egg the remaining way through and toasting the other side of the bread.

Enjoy your eggy bread with a dash of salt to your taste.

We called 'em "eggles" at my house... I'm not sure why? hahaha... drowned them in syrup as kids, which is probably why I need to lose weight & found this site to begin with! I like your no-sugar version! - 4/2/11

My mom made these for me growing up, and I made them for my kids. We call them Egg-In-The-Middle. I've also seen them referred to as Egg-In-A-Basket, and at a golf club restaurant as One-In-The-Hole!

    They are delish! - 2/4/11
