Lizzy Scalloped Potatoes and Ham

6 three ounce slabs of ham3 tbsp butter1 cup onion chopped3 tbsp flour1 tsp salt1/4 tsp pepper2 1/2 cup fat free milkabout 64 oz. peeled and thinly sliced potatoes, just enough to cover ham and fill baking dish
Heat oven to 350 and spray oil a 13x9x2 baking dish
Lay ham in bottom so that pan can easily be split in 6 sections
Melt butter in 2 quart pan and saute onion about 2 min until tender
Stir in flour, salt, and pepper
Add milk, heat to boiling, boil one minute stirring constantly
Peel and thinly slice potatoes and spread over ham
Pour sauce over potatoes
Cover and bake for 30 minutes then remove cover and bake another 60 to 70 minutes until potatoes are tender
Let stand 10 minutes before serving
