Sauerkraut with Red Wine and Onions

Ingredients
2 cups sauerkraut1 cup diced onion1/4 cup red wine1 tbsp thyme1/2 tbsp butter
Directions
Saute' the onions in the butter until translucent.
Add the sauerkraut and thyme, cook until heated through. Remove from heat, stir in wine.
Place back on heat, simmer for 10 minutes.

    Using the bagged saurkraut instead of bottled or canned helps with the sodium content. - 2/15/08

    when you use the kraut.. rinse it in a colander under cold water for about 2 minutes.. the salty taste is gone .. they have to use salt to keep it on the shelf. - 2/15/08
