This is very much like my family's recipe. I use 2t of Better Than Boullion-Beef instead of the cube. I add 1t of Romano/Parmesean (per bowl) for the cheese flavor & forego the actual cheese. Wasa Hearty Grain is a good bread substitute for the top. - 9/27/08

Really delicious! Did not use the butter just used a oil calorie free spray. Did put reduced fat Provolone on top. This came out absolutely delicious! - 2/24/08

I used low sodium beef broth (32 oz package) and added 2 cups of water to the recipe. We loved it better than restaurant soup because it wasn't so salty! Thanks! - 8/10/10

I will be buying another box of broth and adding it in. Too many onions, not enough liquid in my opinion. Otherwise, it's what I was looking for! - 11/10/11

Did this JUST as told and it turned out lovely! I loved it. Found out though that hubby doesn't like "homemade" French Onion soup... after I made it! Thankfully, I love it! I topped it w/ some croutons and 1/4 cup shredded swiss cheese! YUM!!!! - 1/27/10
