Rhubarb Strawberry Cake

.5 cup shortening1.5 cups sugar1 egg1 tsp soda in 1 cup buttermilk2 cups flour2 cups rhubarb1 cup strawberries
Heat oven to 350°, spray 9"x13" glass cake pan with Pam.
Chop rhubarb and strawberries, set aside.
Cream shortening with sugar, add egg. Stir soda into buttermilk, add alternately with flour to shortening/sugar mixture. Add fruit, pour into prepared pan.
Bake 45 minutes or until done.
Serving Size: makes 12 servings 2" square
