Greek Green Beans in Tomato Sauce

4 cups frozen cut green beans1 14.5oz can petite diced tomatoes1 8oz can of low sodium tomato sauce1 large onion4 cloves of crushed or grated garlic1 tablespoon of lemon juice1 tsp of sugar1 tbs olive oil1 tsp dry oreganosalt and pepper to taste
This recipe makes 4 1-cup servings.
I prefer this with fresh green beans but using frozen makes it really easy.
-Put the olive oil in a medium sized pot over medium heat.
-Dice the onion and put it in the heated olive oil, cook till translucent and add the garlic.
-Just cook the garlic for a minute or so and add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, and sugar.
-Reduce and let simmer for 10-15 minutes so the tomatoes break down and the sauce thickens
-Add the green beans cover and allow them to cook for 10-20 depending on how done you like your beans.
***if you're using fresh green beans you might want to par boil them first.
-When the dish is ready add up to a tablespoon of lemon juice, stir and enjoy!
