Flap Jacks A Simple recipie

125g butter or cooking margarine125g demerara sugar5 tbsp Golden syrup225g scots porage oats1tsp ground ginger
1) Preheat oven to 190 degrees c, 375f, gas mark 5. Grease a 20cm sandwich tin
2) Melt butter in a large sause pan and stir in sugar and syrup. Add the porage oats and ground ginger and mix well
3) using the back of a metal spoon press mixture evenly over the base of the tin and smooth over
4) Bake for 20 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes in the tin. then score into 8 wedges
5) Cool completely, turn out and break into wedges
Serving Size: 8 wedges
If you want ot go for something more in these flapjacks try adding some saltanas or dryed fruit
