Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
4 smoked pork hocks1 pound (2 cups) split peas1/2 cup minced onions1-1/2 cups chopped carrots1/2 tsp cumin (powder is preferred)water to cover
Directions
Boil 10 cups of water.

Place all ingredients in large crock pot. When water has boiled, pour into crock pot until all ingredients are covered. Turn on medium/high and let cook for approximately 6 hours.

Remove meat from soup and let cool.

After cooling, remove meat from bones and return meat to soup. Dispose of bones.

Keep cooking soup until peas are completely soft and provide a thick broth consistency.
