2 c. Chicken Broth2 cans Dark Red Kidney Beans (rinsed)1 lb. Smoked Sausage, sliced2 cloves garlic1 tsp. dried Thyme1 tsp. dried Basil1 tsp. dried Bay leaves2 c. uncooked Brown Rice
Add sausage, chicken broth and beans to crock pot.
Cook on low 6-8 hours.
During last hour of cooking add rice and herbs.

i did one can red and one can black beans. I added some other spices. Next time I'll add tomatoes too. Overall pretty good. The brown rice took a while to cook and get soft, but thats pretty normal for brown rice. Im excited to pack it up in separate containers and take for lunches! - 1/22/12
