Ingredients
Barley, pearled, cooked, 3 cup Turnips, 1.5 cup, cubes Carrots, raw, 1 cup, chopped Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped *beef broth, 1 cup *Contadina Tomato Paste, 2 tbsp Broccoli, fresh, 2 cup, choppedAdd fennel if you have it. great flavor!Seasonings:pinch of herb de provence1/2 tsp pepperany fresh herbs from garden; basil, oregano, chivessalt, if desired.
Directions
Cook barley separately, drain.
combine rest of ingredients into a large stock pot and add water to cover, about 4 cups. bring to a boil and simmer for about 15-20 min. Add barley. serve.

Serving Size: makes about 8 - 1 cup servings, or 4 really big ones!

    SORRY! Complete accident that I clicked on the gluten free category, I meant to choose low fat. My apologies to the gluten free community, but sometimes mistakes happen. :(

    It takes 45 to 50 minutes to prepare the Barley. To four cups boiling water add 3/4 cups dry barley. Cook until tender. Can be refrigerated up to one week.
