1-1/2 cups water, room temperatureUnsalted butter, room temp, cut into 1/2-inch pieces (used Land of Lakes Light Butter with canola) 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoonSalt - 1-1/4 teaspoonsHoney - 2-1/2 tablespoonsWhole Wheat Flour - 4 cupsOats - 2-1/2 tablespoons (Used Irish Steel Cut Oats)Flax Seed - 1/3 cupYeast, active dry, instant or bread machine - 2-1/4 teaspoons
Place all ingredients, in the order listed, in the bread pan fitted with the kneading paddle. Secure the bread pan in the Cuisinart Automatic Breadmaker. Press the menu button to select the Sweet Bread program or the White Bread program. Press loaf size and crust color buttons to select both size (2 lb) and crust preference (light). Press Start/Stop to mix, knead and rise. When paddle signal sounds (6 beeps) remove dough and kneading paddle. Reshape dough into 2 loaves and place in 2 loaf pans. Let rise an additional 35-45 minutes in warm, dry place. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Transfer bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
