Buy these in bulk if available; prepackaged are fine, but more expensive.10 cups thick oats2 cups Bulgar2 cups Flax meal (ground)2 cups Brown long rice2 cups sunflower seed, hulled and unsalted2 cups pearled barley2 cups steel cut oats1 3/4 to 2 cups almond sliversThese cereals may be freely substituted for each other with very little change in nutritional value.
Directions
Per serving: 1/3 cup dry cereal & 1 cup water
Stove top: simmer in saucepan, uncovered, until cereal is tender
Microwave: cook at 50% power about 12 minutes. Will vary depending upon unit power
