Pan seared chicken breasts with balsmic-cherry sauce

1 T. Olive oil3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts3 shallots, sliced thinly1/2 cup Pinot Noir1 cup low-sodium chicken broth3 T. balsamic vinegar2 T. apricot or cherry jam 1/2 cup canned cherries in water
Heat olive oil in skillet. Salt and pepper chicken. Add chicken to skillet and sear without turning until brown on one side. Turn chicken over and brown second side. Remove chicken to plate and cover. Add shallots to skillet and lower heat until shallots are translucent. Add wine and scrape skillet. Add broth and vinegar. Bring to a boil and reduce by 1/2. Add cherries and chicken and heat through.
